Yes, it must be prescribed by a doctor, as long as your symptoms fit accordingly.

YO

you have to havea prescription from a Dr.

TA

Talk to your DR. A GP can prescribe it..My OB/GYN did as well as my general practitioner.

DO

doctor!

AN

Any doctor can prescribe it, including your gp. A psychiatrist probably has more experience with tailoring your dosage, as well as using other treatments for depression.

ON

only an MD can prescribe Zoloft. Usually it is done by a psychiatrist.
Note there are a variety of anti-depresants. So it need not be Zoloft. You will want to find the one that works best for you.
Also, when going off anti-depresants, it often if a good idea to take a longer period of time then is suggested. If they say go off over a month, then perhaps two months is better. But listen to your body. One month may be enough.

I

I tried Zoloft, and it did not do to much for me. I am doing pretty good with Lexapro now, but you may have to try several before you find the one that’s right for you. Take my advice and try your best to stay away from the benzo’s.

YO

you can have my old ones..they made me fat and mean and broke with no interest in sex…..just kidding….(i mean about giving them to you..that’s illegal)

YE

Yes of course a doc has to prescribe it for you!

YE

Yes your family doctor might feel comfortable enough to prescribe it to you, my husband was on it and the family doctor prescribed it, there was no need for referral, but yes with No prescription you can not get it..
Well I should say, you should not be able to get it!

I

I think either would do it, but if I were going to get it, I know a dr. could prescribe it.

TH

THIS MED. IS ONLY PRESCRIBED BY A DR.

CH

check your doctor and bring me the prescription

I

I would not just assume that Zoloft is the best drug for you. I would first talk to an MD and determine the cause of your health problem. Often similar symptoms can be caused by other potentially serious disorders. If the MD agrees that you may be suffering from depression, they will then go ahead and prescribe the proper medication. There are several classes of anti-depressant medications, your doctor will know which is right for you.

YO

You should go and talk to a psychiatrist. It is a prescription medication.
