I have a fear of ladders. I cannot go more than 2 steps on a ladder, but I’m not afraid of heights, I don’t think. For example, one time I wanted to help my dad put Christmas lights on the roof. It took me about 30 minutes to work my way to the top and I was terrified, but once I was on the roof I was fine. I could go to the edge and not be scared. When it was time to get down I couldn’t go down the ladder. I ended up jumping from the roof, because it was only one story and not too tall.
You may be afraid of the ladder falling, if your not afraid of hights. Falling is a very real fear, because you know there is always a possibity of the ladder falling naturally you would be overly careful. perhaps when you were a tiny child you had a accident climbing? Did you learn to walk playing on a step ladder or clombing on a stool? Ask your parents maybe they can shed some light on this for you.
